Touched

                              Touched

I have roamed the halls of hope
 And sauntered under sunny skies.
I’ve marveled at the hands of statues
 And drank from ancient fountains.
I’ve tasted the sun captured inside dried fruit
And stained my lips with homemade wine
Before sweetly falling asleep in the dark.

In quiet courtyards where nuns have prayed
 I’ve ruminated in silence.
I feel that God is still listening, his ear pressed against a wall,
For the voices of our souls are meek,
But in this place of impossible volume
Prayers and sighs and little voices
Are made to sparkle like opals.

Lives blessed with poetry such as mine,
 Who naturally dwindle in melancholy,
And appear to be intimate with the divine
Are purposed to bring wisdom to folly.
Such is the kingdom of the illumined,
Those the backhand of God has made sacred and doomed.

Mercury Retrograde in Pisces

Mercury Retrograde in Pisces

Don’t bother pinching yourself, this isn’t a dream…but it sure is going to feel like it! This week Mercury went retrograde in head in the clouds Pisces on February 17 until March 10th and the Sun also moved into Pisces on February 18th.  In addition to all this there’s a new moon in Pisces on the 23rd. Whenever Mercury goes retrograde, which is a few times a year, communication and day-to-day activities get a little wonky. Phones break, computers crash, you miss texts, just very irritating things. Since it’s happening in Pisces we can expect a lot of the mundane problems we have will be connected to plumbing, water, or flooding of some kind as well.

The Language Of The Stars

The Language Of The Stars

The stars take my breath away. There’s a beauty and mystery in the night sky of which I have difficulty describing. It would suffice to say it speaks to my soul on a level that words couldn’t possibly reach. Perhaps that’s because I have always understood the language of the stars: Astrology. By definition, Astrology is the study of the movements of celestial bodies and it’s influence on our affairs and our world. Although that’s true, there’s so much more to it. For me, astrology is a symbolic language.

It all starts with your birth chart. Read More →

The Houses

The Houses

The houses are the “Where” in astrology. Each of the 12 houses in your birth chart rules different areas of your life and even says something about the people related to those houses. Each house has a “Natural ruler” and then the sign that rules a house in your chart specifically. It helps to associate each house with its “Natural” ruler when trying to understand what it represents. The house any given planet resides in will tell you where that planet is mostly expressed and adds an extra layer of energy to help you understand the planet. For instance, if you have a Mars in Gemini in the 8th house, your Mars will have a Scorpio feel to it as well as being in the sign of Gemini. Read More →

The Planets

The Planets

The planets are the “What” in astrology. For example, when we talk about someone’s communication what we look for is the planet Mercury. When we talk about someone’s ambition or drive to succeed, we look to the planet Mars. This is what is meant when I say they are the “What”. I’m going to take you on a brief astrological tour of the solar system to help you better understand the significance of these planets.  Read More →

The Signs

The Signs

The 12 astrological signs of the Zodiac are the “How” in astrology, meaning how the planets and houses are expressed. These descriptions are meant to give you a general sense of what the energy of each sign is like. By no means is this a complete description of the near endless possibilities of expression contained within the zodiac.
